SocialUpgrade Is a Scam! Stay Away!

Our modern society is characterized by a growing interconnectedness that has resulted from our ever-increasing reliance on technology. With this trend of globalization has come a dramatic uptick in the use of social media services — especially Instagram. From small businesses looking to elevate their advertising to the next level to everyday users looking to share their lives with the world, Instagram never fails to deliver. However, as a five-year Instagram user, I’ve noticed quite a few irregularities using the app.

Countless times, I’ve seen an Instagram account that jumped from less than 25 likes on one post to several hundreds on the next or a random account that managed to increase its minscule follower count almost tenfold over the span of just a few days. Even if you’ve only been using Instagram for a month at this point, I’m sure you’ve witnessed phenomena similar to the ones I just described. Whenever you see such anomalies, chances are that the users they involve have fallen victim to the misleading and manipulative Instagram growth service known as SocialUpgrade.

Since it isn’t likely that everyone knows about SocialUpgrade, I’ll drop a brief description of its purpose — at least according to its creators. SocialUpgrade is supposed to be an easy-to-use, cost-effective alternative that actually improves buyers’ accounts and posts by providing them with organic, active followers that interact with — like and comment — on posts. Although the service may seem tempting at first, I’m sure you won’t want anything to do with it, once you’ve read the rest of this article.

If you’re going to spend upwards of $20 per week on an Instagram growth service, you’re going to want it to consistently increase your follower and like counts without any setbacks. However, many people that have purchased SocialUpgrade’s services have reported negative experiences. Some complain about how Instagram prompted them to change their passwords due to suspicious activity just a few hours after they had signed up for SocialUpgrade.

Others complain about Instagram either handicapping or banning their accounts upon recognizing the use of the automated bot service SocialUpgrade. Certainly, these are serious issues and should be sufficient to deter you from trying SocialUpgrade for yourself, but the types of problems buyers face don’t end there. In fact, there are many more serious problems that SocialUpgrade buyers face, which must be fairly common given how easily I found them.

After performing a simple Google search of “SocialUpgrade,” I found my computer screen filled with a plethora of pages of links to choose from. However, after quickly scanning the first page of links, words like “scam” and “fraudulent” caught my attention. Once again, you should find SocialUpgrade questionable enough to stay away from at all costs by this point, but I’ll go on just to engrain the evils of the service into your mind.

After reading multiple online reviews, I’ve seen negative experiences ranging from being flagged by Instagram for suspicious activity to no noticeable increase in followers to repeated fraudulent charges from the businesses. The latter complaint was by far the most common, with several users reporting “accidental” charges for a more expensive subscription plan than they had. In addition, one user who downloaded SocialUpgrade to briefly test it out was promptly bombarded with suspicious, random charges from SocialUpgrade.

These charges were so frequent and aggressive that he was forced to cancel his card to avoid incurring more and more thieving charges. And even after all that inconvenience, the customer in question was never reimbursed for his troubles; all the he got was an earful from a SocialUpgrade representative trying to manipulate him for more fraudulent charges. Perhaps the worst of these stories is that these experiences are ridiculously common; many people have suffered with SocialUpgrade blatantly trying to manipulate them.

Many others complain about how SocialUpgrade took their money but never actually increased their follower bases. And of the few people who did experience an actual increase in followers from using SocialUpgrade, they either complained about only receiving an initial boost in followers that only lasted for a couple of weeks or gaining mostly bot followers that aren’t real or genuinely interested in the accounts they follow, so they don’t actively interact — like or comment — with the Instagram users they follow because of SocialUpgrade. Either way, any follower increase is in no way worth the cutthroat, shady business practices SocialUpgrade employs to suck more funds out of its unassuming customers.
