Ohio police arrest suspected Anonymous activist

Law enforcement officials have arrested a suspected Anonymous activist in Cleveland, Ohio.

The 22-year-old man was reportedly questioned by specialist computer crime detectives at a local police station.

The suspect is currently free on bail until May 26 – pending further inquiries.

Meanwhile, five alleged Anonymous “members” originally arrested in January were recently granted bail privileges in the UK and ordered to report to police stations in June.

The British suspects stand accused of participating in a coordinated (DDoS) cyber campaign against the websites of Amazon, Bank of America, Mastercard, PayPal and Visa.

The attacks were launched to demonstrate solidarity with WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange.

If convicted, the five could face up to ten years in prison.
