The new teaser for Disney’s upcoming CG series is up and live on the web.
The long-awaited CGI series takes place between the events of TRON and TRON: Legacy.
Canonically, it takes place between the betrayal of CLU which sent Kevin Flynn into exile, and the discovery of the ISOs.
CLU is attempting to rule the grid with the help of General Tesler, who seems to be the main villain for the series – since CLU needs to be dealt with by Sam Flynn later.
The teaser itself is mostly a bunch of art stills followed by the short clip of the show which was included in the DVD release of TRON: Legacy earlier this year.
Beck is a young program with promise, being trained by Tron, a legendary grid fighter after which the entire franchise is named. Beck seeks to free his family, and the entire Grid from General Tesler’s tyranny. Soon he becomes the leader of a revolution against the militaristic rule.
The series stars Elijah Wood as Beck, Bruce Boxleitner as Tron, Fred Tatasciore as Kevin Flynn and CLU, and Lance Henricksen as Tesler. A few other well-known names like Mandy Moore and Paul Rubnens are also connected to the project as minor characters.
TRON: Uprising comes to the Disney XD channel summer 2011.
