LittleBigPlanet 2 resurrects Windows XP

XP was probably one of the most stable Windows iterations Microsoft ever coded – aside from 2000 (NT), of course.

Interestingly enough, major aspects of the popular operating system seems to have been resurrected within the LittleBigPlanet 2 (LBP2) Beta.

To be sure, the XP homage currently features a start menu, a working mouse cursor, multiplayer support, integrated games, along with accurate login and logout sound effects.

LBP2 can best be described as a puzzle platformer video game, centered around user-generated content.

Frequently touted as a “platform for games,” the title was developed by Media Molecule and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for the PlayStation 3.

LBP2 is slated to be released on January 18 in North America.
