Star Wars Video Game News

You knew with the resurrection of Star Wars that there would be new video games as well. And there is indeed a new game, Star Wars Battlefront, that will debut at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in April.

As the site Polygon tells us, the game is being released by Electronic Arts, and as the company said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19.”

Polygon adds that the game is being developed at DICE, the company behind Battlefield and Mirror’s Edge. The game is currently scheduled for the end of the year, and as with everything Star Wars, things are top secret, but EA has vowed that more details will be out this spring.

According to Den of Geek, the game will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox, and it makes sense that the next big Star Wars game will coincide with the release of The Force Awakens. Before LucasArts got shut down, there was amazing work being done with the Star Wars video games, which some felt had better storytelling than the movies. It would be great to see the new Star Wars games continue in this tradition, especially if the next movie really delivers as well.
