Tesco supermarket to sell Apple iPhone

Mighty supermarket combine Tesco is to start selling the Apple iPhone in the United Kingdom.

Tesco has its paws in just about every possible thing that can be sold in the UK these days.

The firm said it wanted to start selling the iPhone in time for the Christmas selling period.

The iPhone will be sold through a joint venture with O2 called Tesco Mobile, selling pay as you go tariffs and on contract too.

While O2 has been selling the iPhone for some time, the market is wide open in the UK because Orange and Vodafone sell the iPhone too.

The companies selling the iPhone will offer both the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 3G.
