Samsung tablet specs hit the ‘Net

Want to know more about Samsung’s upcoming Android-based tablet?

Well, according to the Vietnamese-based Tinh Te, the sleek 7-inch device will be powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo) and an A8 processor running at 1.2GHz.

In addition, the 370-gram tablet is expected to feature a 4,000mAH battery, 16GB of on-board storage, up to 32GB of microSD expansion, integrated eBook reader software and “exclusive” magazine content.

“The 7-inch panel is said to be of Samsung’s Super AMOLED variety which should make it readable outdoors judging by its smaller sibs,” wrote Engadget’s Thomas Ricker.

“Sounds hot, but we’ll have to see how Samsung’s TouchWiz UI holds up to being stretched across all that very expensive screen-estate.”

The Samsung Galaxy tablet is slated to launch “no later” than the third quarter of 2010.

Pricing information has yet to be disclosed.
