Google gives away free wi-fi at 47 airports

Search behemoth Google will offer free wi-fi across the US to travelers at 47 airports over the holiday period.

And Burbank and Seattle airports will start offering airport wide free wi-fi indefinitely, as a result of the deal.

Over 100 million people will travel through the 47 airports between now and January 15, 2010 – when the offer ends.

Airports covered by the deal include Las Vegas, San Jose, Boston, Baltimore, Houston, Indianapolis, Miami, Orlando, St Louis and Charlotte.

And in other free wi-fi news, Times Square will offer free connections to people in the vicinity. That’s nothing to do with Google, however. That is down to Yahoo and the Times Square Alliance.
