Apple colludes in censoring Dalai Lama on iPhone

People buying iPhone applications in China won’t be able to download apps related to Tibet’s Dalai Lama.

China takes a dim view of the Dalai Lama. It considers Tibet to be a part of its own territory, and state newspapers are constantly filled with attacks on the spiritual leader of the country.

Apple says that all applications are not available in every country. It also reserves the right to censor or ban applications that don’t fit in with its world view.

There are numerous iPhone applications related to the Nobel Prize winner, including the Dalai Lama Prayerwheel and Dalai Lama Quotes.
