AOC debuts Rockchip-powered Android tablet

AOC will be showcasing a Rockchip-powered Android tablet this week at CES 2011 in Las Vegas.

The 8-inch device features an 800-by-600-pixel touch screen, along with a full USB 2.0 port.

Unfortunately, the Breeze runs a pre-Froyo version of Android (2.1), and there is no word on whether or not it can be updated to 2.2, let alone Honeycomb.

Still, for $200, the 1.1 pound Wi-Fi device offers some pretty decent specs at a fairly reasonable price point.

For example, the Breeze boasts 12 hours audio playing time, up to 6 hours video time and offers a built-in speaker, along with a standard headphone jack/microphone.

Additional specs include:

  • Web browser
  • Android marketplace
  • 4GB of on-board storage space
  • Micro SD card slot
