Angry Facebook dev bashes Android

Facebook developer Joe Hewitt wants you to know that he hates absolutely everything about Android. Why, you ask?

“Android tools are horrendous, OS is hideous, but the absence of big brother telling me what to do gives it a slight edge,” Hewitt claimed in a rather angry Tweet spotted by Jay Yarrow of BusinessInsider.

“The more I work with Android the more it reminds me of Windows…as in, it’s really flexible, agnostic, and developer-friendly, but also really sloppily designed.”

Huh!? Say what!?!?

Hewitt – you really should know better.

Windows is bloated and has been for countless years, whereas Android is a mobile OS designed by Google with a spartan, streamlined approach.

But wait, there’s more.

“Android dev community needs a quirksmode.org-like site to chart the subtle differences between each device, so we needn’t buy every one…[And] Droid X is not THAT good. [So] stick with your iPhone.”

Then again, Hewitt isn’t exactly a big fan of Apple, either.

No, the pissed off dev recently stopped coding an iPhone Facebook app because he was “philosophically opposed” to the existence of Apple’s review process.

Well, hey now.

If only we all had the luxury to quit working on projects because of a “philosophical” opposition.

Seriously, my advice: suck it up, dude. And if you don’t like Android, Apple or Windows, well, then, go code and market your own OS.

Yeah, just let us know how that goes.
