Video: LG’s flexing smartphone

LG has posted a video showcasing its G Flex smartphone with a curved display and slightly sloped form factor.

As you can see in the video above, the smartphone really does flex and is apparently capable of resisting (or recovering from) light scratches, all while bouncing back into shape if it is inadvertently flattened.

As Liliputing’s Brad Linder notes, the video does make the phone’s primary features look pretty good.

“If you sit on it or drop a weight on it, the phone can basically straighten out and then spring back to its original shape,” Linder explained.

“And the ‘self healing’ elastic on the back panel seems to work as well — scratch the phone with a wire brush, and light scratches will disappear in a matter of minutes.”

LG’s G Flex smartphone will be heading to a number of US wireless carriers in the near future including AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Additional key specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 6 inch, 1280 x 720p pixel OLED display, 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera and support for 24-bit/192 kHz audio.
