At today’s WWDC Apple’s HomeKit didn’t really make a it clear what they are offering for home automation other than “a piecemeal tease that implies you’ll soon be able to control your smart toaster with your iPhone.”
So, let’s turn to this Microsoft concept video from around 1999. It’s the Internet of Things over a decade before we really got excited about it.
