Gigabyte moves Firewire and USB port

Gigabyte has announced the ‘Expand Box’, a device which connects to traditionally rear-mounted ports such as USB, FireWire, and audio jacks them all into one single unit. According to Gigabyte, the device can be easily inserted into any 3.5″ external drive bay. The installation requires connection of the Expand Box to the respective headers on the motherboard. The device offers two USB 2.0 ports, two IEEE 1394 ports and two audio (Line-In/Line-Out) jacks. Pricing information was not provided.
