Performance memory maker OCZ goes down the USB Flash stick lane – a relatively new market segment most performance memory makers choose to expand their sales. Dubbed “Rally”, OCZ claims that the sticks are “the fastest USB 2.0 Flash Drives on the market.” Data read speeds of the OCZ Rally, which is available in sizes of 512 MByte, 1 GByte and 2 GByte are indicated to reach 28 MByte per second. Write speed is 15 MByte per second for the 512 MByte version and 17 MByte per second for the GByte sticks.
Retail pricing for the 512 MByte stick is expected to be in a range of $35 to $39, the 1 GByte device will retail between $65 and $69 and the 2 GByte version will land between $120 and $125. (THG)
