Windows XP Pro x64 hits Japanese store shelves

If you own a 64-bit capable PC and just can’t wait for Windows XP x64 running on your system, consider activating your contacts in Japan: Japanese retailers apparently have begun selling the 64-bit Windows client. The downside: Only the Japanese version of the OS is available at this time. Pricing is on par with the regular professional version of Windows XP.

Microsoft plans the official announcement of the software for April 25, during Bill Gates’ opening keynote at WinHEC. (Akihabara News/THG)
