D-Link announced that two of its existing connectivity products, the D-Link SecuriCamInternet Camera and the D-Link Network Storage Adapter will support the Microsoft “Longhorn” upcoming Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol. According to the company, the technology allows a simplified installation and configuration of home networks.
Longhorn will use LLTD to detect devices on the network, determine how they are interconnected and represent the network in a graphic form. The ability to visualize home networks will help users identify connectivity issues needing corrective action, D-Link said. (THG)
