Intel and Sprint said Thursday that they’re teaming up to develop technology and services for the mobile version of WiMax, an alliance that both companies hope will pay off in big money several years from now.
Intel and Sprint’s announcement reflects the push by the chip maker and the telecom to promote WiMax, which stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. It’s a new technology that provides high-speed broadband services.
