Intel and AMD have agreed on an extension of the deadline for a reply to AMD’s antitrust claims against Intel. According to Intel spokesperson Chuck Mulloy, both “parties in this case have agreed to an extension of the deadline for Intel’s answer. The new date is September 6.”
AMD filed an antitrust complaint on June 28. Such filings usually require an official reply of the defending party within 20 days. Analysts and legal experts interpret the additional time Intel requested as indication that the company will fire back at AMD, dismissing all claims made.
AMD is represented by Charles Diamond of O’Melveny & Myers, Intel by Bob Cooper and Joseph Kattan of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. (THG)
