Domino’s plans to open shop on the moon

It’s a good thing Domino’s no longer guarantees it can get pizza to any location in 30 minutes or less.

The pizza chain has revealed plans to construct a new location where no chain has gone before. That’s one small step for pepperoni…

The plan came out of Domino’s offices in Japan and apparently has a price tag of around $14 billion. Now, we have to admit that the new Domino’s crust is pretty tasty, but not even a company like Domino’s rakes in enough money for an undertaking like that.

So obviously the company would be looking for some sort of government aid if it wanted to actually take this plan any further.

As much as it might sound like it is, this isn’t just some practical joke for publicity. Corporate employees have helped put together a blueprint for this occasion for more than a year.

It is also interesting because it helps re-ignite interest in moon travel. A couple decades ago, people were probably certain that within their children’s lifetime, if not their own, you’d be able to book a vacation to the moon.

But just like we still don’t have flying cars, it seems as though that just isn’t going to happen. But then again, there always that old saying “if you build it they will come.”

It would be interesting to see what Domino’s moon menu is like. Anyway, it’s something to keep an eye on.
