MK802 III PC-on-a-stick gets revamped

Rikomagic has upgraded its recently launched MK802 III PC-on-a-stick with Bluetooth, an ESD circuit for improved stability and software support for shutdown mode.

Core specs remain the same for the Jelly Bean-powered (Android 4.1) device, including a 1.6 GHz RK3066 ARM Cortex-A9 processor, quad-core graphics, 1GB of RAM, 4GB-8GB of storage, a microSD card slot and WiFi.

As Liliputing’s Brad Linder notes, while the addition of Bluetooth, an ESD circuit software support for “off” mode may not sound like a huge upgrade, the trio of features help the versatile PC-on-a-stick go a long way in terms of improving usability.

“While dozens of these Android mini PCs have come out of China in recent months, most have lacked an off switch,” Linder explained.

“The only way to turn them off is typically to pull the plug when you’re done using them. Although the MK802 IIIs doesn’t have an off ‘switch’ per se, at least it will support software that lets you power down an Android computer.”
