Pioneer grad is sued over spam

A 22-year-old former Ann Arbor resident and his business partner are being sued for millions of dollars in damages by the state of Texas, which says the two have sent illegal e-mails while operating one of the four largest Internet spam organizations in the world.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday, Texas Attorney General Gregg Abbott names Ryan Samuel Pitylak, a 2000 graduate of Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor and currently a student at the University of Texas at Austin, and Mark Trotter, his 40-year-old business partner from California.
