Wii-Fit thanked for saving fat woman’s life

There’s nothing quite like a wee story about a Nintendo Wii saving somewiins life, and who are we at TG Daily to hold back, especially on a Monday?

This particular heart wrenching tale comes to us from British tabloid News of the World, and concerns itself with former fatty, Lara Roberts, who thanks Nintendo for helping her lose 112 pounds jiggling up and down in front of her TV.

Of course, it didn’t hurt that Roberts (38), also stopped stuffing herself with 4,000 calories a day, but, that would take the whole shine off the “Wii Fit saved my life” angle, so we probably shouldn’t emphasize it too much. Lord knows, NOTW didn’t.

Roberts – who went from 252 to 140 pounds in a year – wiivealed that she was simply too self-conscious to bring her blubbery self to the gym, so it was wii-ly only thanks to her games console that she managed to start any exercise routine at all.

Indeed, she got so into it, she even started waking up at 5am to work out, a regime she stuck to for over 12 months.

“As far as I’m concerned the Wii Fit saved my life,” Roberts, who now parades around the house in wee bikinis and lingerie, told NOTW.  “I knew if I didn’t do something, chances are I wouldn’t live to see my girls grow up.”

Roberts, it seems, is doing a whole lot more than seeing her girls grow up. She’s now competing with them for male attention too, with the Wii-Fit wonder landing a role on BBC 3 reality TV show “I’m Hotter Than My Daughter.”

Keepin’ it classy, Roberts.
