New Gorillaz Album Finally Releases On Christmas Day [Unplugging]

The Gorillaz seem to be feeling the holiday spirit as they have announced the release of their highly anticipated new album for Christmas Day. Famed for being entirely recorded on an iPad, the mysterious album had little planning involved and was literally recorded in about a month while on the road during a North American tour. Also, in celebration of the 12 days before Christmas, each day entitles a special, exclusive gift for fans. Happy holidays from the Gorillaz!

Gearing up for the Grammy Awards? The 2011 Grammy Award nominees were announced this past Wednesday, with Eminem leading the pack with a total of 10 nominations across categories including Best Album, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Several other artists such as John Legend and B.o.B were also nominated for 5 awards. Follow the link below the check out the full list.

Transitioning from their typical experimental sound, Peter Bjorn & John will release their sixth studio album on March 29th via StarTime International going back to their pop roots style. Also, the Mountain Goats confirmed that they got help from former Morbid Angel guitarist and current Hate Eternal frontman, Erik Rutan, on their upcoming album. 

Concert news this week includes Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Jimmy Eat World and Ben Folds. Post-rockers Godspeed You! Black Emperor performed this weekend for the first time in a decade at ATP’s Nightmare Before Christmas in Minehead, England. Lucky for you, there’s video footage to watch and experience it yourself. Jimmy Eat World has added more tour dates to their 2010-2011 tour, including an appearance on Conan. And finally, Ben Folds has also announced additional tour dates in the Midwest.

Peter Bjorn & John to Release New Album: Indie pop-rockers Peter Bjorn & John will release their sixth studio album on March 29th via StarTime International. This album will be a transition from the band’s experimental sound to their pop roots.

Mountain Goats Record With Morbid Angel Guitarist: It’s confirmed that the Mountain Goats got the help of former Morbid Angel guitarist and current Hate Eternal frontman, Erik Rutan, on their upcoming album.
