Avengers Age of Ultron is Officially Under Way

We just reported here on TGD that the role of the Vision for Avengers Age of Ultron has been cast, and he will be played by Paul Bettany. We were also trying to speculate when the movie would actually start shooting, but apparently it’s already underway.

As Collider tells us, the shoot began on February 11 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and it should be there for about two weeks. The bulk of the film will probably be shot in London, and reports also tell us that there may be some shooting in North Italy and Korea as well.

According to Cinema Blend, what’s being shot now will be the first ten minutes of the movie. Cinema Blend speculated that Johannesburg could double for Wakanda, the home of the Black Panther character, but apparently the Avengers will indeed begin in real world South Africa, not a mythical comic book land.

We’re not sure if the entire shoot has officially launched from this point, don’t forget a segment of Batman Vs Superman has already been filmed long before official production is supposed to begin, but the very first day of what will be the most anticipated sequel in memory has indeed gotten underway.

Look for Avengers Age of Ultron in theaters on May 1, 2015.
