"Whore of the Orient" confirmed for PS4/Xbox 720

One of the first multi-platform titles for the next console generation has been announced. The game, created by Team Bondi, is called Whore of the Orient. What a great flagship game to usher in new discussion about the upcoming Xbox and Playstation additions.

“Shanghai, 1936. Whore of the Orient. Paris of the East. The most corrupt and decadent city on the planet, where anything can be had or done for the right price,” Team Bondi said in a statement.

“Plaything of Western powers who greedily exploit the Chinese masses. Boiling pot of Chinese nationalism, with the Kuomintang ruthlessly trying to suppress Communism and the labour movement. Home to the International Police Force, a group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace.”

Interestingly, recently leaked Xbox 720 docs indicate that Redmond designed the latest iteration of Kinect with two separate camera sensors mounted on either side.

This configuration serves to enhance the platform’s depth perception accuracy, allowing precise tracking of up to four players.

Although official specs are scarce, the Xbox 720 is believed to feature Blu-ray compatibility, a pair of augmented reality glasses, ‘Kinect V2,’ a $299.99 price point and a tentative 2013 launch date.

As for the PS4, there have been far fewer leads about what the console will offer, leading many to believe that the PS4 will not hit the streets for at least a year after the Xbox 720 is released (which would make sense considering the Xbox 360 launched the year before the PS3).
