Bethesda and id showcase Doom 3 BFG levels

Bethesda and id Software have posted a trailer showcasing new Doom 3 BFG levels in honor of QuakeCon 2012.

As you may recall, there are a total of 8 new levels for the revamped game, which id has nicknamed “The Lost [Mars] Mission.”

In the Lost Mission, the protagonist returns to the red planet as the sole survivor of Bravo Team, which was put together by Union Aerospace Corporation.

As expected, the gates of hell are open once again, and it seems like the protagonist may be going there after finishing things up on Mars. After all, there is nothing like taking the battle to the enemy, right?

Doom 3 BFG – which includes copies of the original Doom and Doom II – hits store shelves on October 16. The game can be played on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC.

Doom first went live in 1993 as a first-person shooter (FPS) video game. Coded by id Software, the franchise is widely recognized for having popularized the first-person shooter genre, while pioneering immersive 3D graphics, multiplayer gaming and support for customized mods packed in WADs.
