May Payne 3 launch trailer goes live

The Max Payne 3 launch trailer has gone live just days before the title’s official rollout.

The long-awaited  game is a third-person shooter in which the player assumes the role of its titular character, Max Payne.

Max Payne 3 features over-the-shoulder zoom aiming and cover mechanics, along with classic run-and-gun shooting and bullet-time in action sequences.

Set in São Paulo, Brazil, the game also boasts extensive multiplayer maps and modes that dynamically change within a match, as well as reward, ranking and clan systems.

“For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past,” reads the official Rockstar synopsis.

“But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.”

Max Payne 3 hits store shelves on May 15 for the Xbox 360/PS3, with the Windows PC version going live on May 29.
