World of Warcraft Movie Shaping Up

We’ve said it many times before, and it always deserves repeating…video game movies are just awful. Stating the obvious of course, we all know this, but there’s hope on the horizon, and we think that hope could be World of Warcraft.

Duncan Jones, director of Moon and Source Code, is onboard to helm the Warcraft movie, and we truly think if any video game movie has the potential to make it, it’s this one. We were actually surprised to read on Collider that the shooting is complete, the movie was supposed to come out next year, but it got moved to 2016 because it originally had the same opening date as Star Wars Episode VII.

In the movie, Travis Fimmel is playing Anduin Lothar, Dominic Cooper is playing King Llane Wrynn, Medivh will be played by Ben Foster, and Garona will be played by Paula Patton. The Horde will also include Durotan, Orgrim, Blackhand, and Gul-Dan.

Warcraft will be hitting theaters in March 2016, and we’re certainly rooting for it, because if it’s an awesome flick, it will be a big turn around for video game films, and create a whole new genre.
