Bethesda no longer blames Sony over DLC

Bethesda seems to be having an about-face over whose problem it is that the Dawnguard DLC hasn’t been released for the PS3.

The downloadable content pack was made available for the Xbox 360 version of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim earlier this year, and it has been a saga full of drama and aggravated customers to see if it will ever launch on the PS3.

The expansion file gives players, among other things, the ability to join a vampire hunting mission with a group called Dawnguard, or they can become a vampire and be a part of the uprising instead.

If you become a vampire you earn a handful of new powers such as the ability to turn into a cloud of bats, as well as an attack that suspends your enemies in mid air.

The Dawnguard expansion pack is chock full of sweet, fresh digital content, providing up to 20 hours of gameplay.

Bethesda’s VP Pete Hines has taken to Twitter for continuous updates about the process of releasing the content. Usually he just says that the company is “working on it.”

However, there have been times when he – and other Bethesda reps – have blamed the PS3 for its relative lack of flexibility compared to the Xbox 360.

Now, though, he admitted, “It’s our problem, and it’s on us to solve it.” He tried to state that Bethesda has “never blamed anyone or anything.”
