Jurassic World Makes a Billion in Record Time

We know, we know, you’re probably sick and tired of heaving about Jurassic World by now, but it is indeed remarkable the kind of money it’s made at the box office. We’re even wondering if it could wind up being the biggest money maker in history.

According to the L.A. Times and numerous other sources, the movie has crossed the billion dollar threshold in thirteen days, apparently beating the Avengers record. While the movie didn’t get the greatest reviews, we all knew that wouldn’t stop it from making serious money.

Variety also reports that Universal has been crowing that Furious 7 is also the fourth biggest grossing film of all time, behind Avatar, Titanic, and The Avengers. Could Jurassic World be right behind?

If you’re sick of Jurassic World by now, the good news is Inside Out is also doing very well at the box office as well, and we have the feeling it will have longer legs in the long run. It couldn’t outrun the raptors this weekend, but we think it could indeed be a long distance runner. In any event, it’s remarkable that Jurassic Park has had this tremendous resurgence, and we’re sure there’s much more dino-mite to come in the future.
