Star Trek: TNG coming to theaters

CBS Home Entertainment and Fathom Events have confirmed they will be bringing Star Trek: The Next Generation to movie theaters for a one-night event.

The event will be a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the show’s premier, and will also coincide with the release of the Blu-ray set of the first season’s episodes, fully remastered to take advantage of the Blu-ray format.

The special event will be a showing of two of the most popular episodes from the season – 106 Where No One Has Gone Before (where Wesley meets The Traveler for the first time) and 114 Datalore (in which we meet Data’s brother, Lore) – in their fully restored glory.

In addition, the audience will be shown a sequence of the Blu-ray special features, including some behind the scenes footage and interviews with the actors.

The event will be on Monday, July 23rd, 7pm (local time) at select theaters. Some theaters will have an additional presentation later in the night. The list of theaters participating in the event is too long to post here, but you can see it over on the Fathom site.

As a bonus, we also happen to have the just released list of special features which will be on the disks in the box set:
