Prometheus trailer has an agenda

20th Century Fox has released a new double-length trailer for its upcoming sci-fi adventure thriller, Prometheus.

This new trailer delves into a lot more of the plot than previous clips, and even some of the subplots the characters will be facing.

This is the most dialogue we’ve heard in a single trailer for the film so far, and it’s the first time we’ve seen more than a few moments of Charlize Theron’s character, which is clearly the face of the faceless corporation in this film, a character that director Ridley Scott loves to vilify in his films.

We’ve also come across a couple of other new plot details in this new brief synopsis:

In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system’s natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers.

Plus, we have a new featurette with some behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with cast and crew.

Prometheus, which stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron, hits theaters in the US – in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D – on June 8, 2012.
