The Punisher is Headed to Daredevil

While superheroes are cooling down a bit, we had the feeling comics would be hitting critical mass by this point, there’s still a lot of promise for superheroes on TV. Supergirl has gotten good early buzz, with a big premiere date on October 26 on CBS, and many fans are waiting with baited breath over the next season of Daredevil.

The Netflix series has given Daredevil the long awaited resurrection he’s always deserved, and now The Wrap tells us that Jon Bernthal from The Walking Dead is joining the series as The Punisher, another character long overdue for a reboot as well.

There’s no exact date for the debut of season two, all we know is we can expect it next year. As the head of Marvel TV said, “Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. His appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

This is definitely exciting news, and we’re also very antsy to see what Netflix has next in store in the Marvel universe. There’s no dates set yet, but upcoming Netflix Marvel shows include Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones.
