Yahoo signs biggest mobile deal to date

Mark Raby

Sunnyvale (CA) - Yahoo has signed a deal with mobile service provider Telefonica, marking its largest push to date in the cell phone search space.

Under the deal, Telefonica will provide Yahoo's mobile services including e-mail, image sharing, and search to the 100+ million subscribers serviced by the company.

Yahoo has been the most active in the mobile search arena of the big three Web giants.  Microsoft and Google have stayed away somewhat, though both also have some presence in mobile Internet.
