Oki made a minor change to its brand name, calling itself from now on Oki Printing Solutions. Coinciding with the new brand name are introductions of several new LED printers, including multi-function devices (MFPs) as well as consumer and professional printer models.
The new C5510n MFP covers printing, scanning, faxing and copying jobs and delivers printing speeds of up to 12 pages per minute (ppm) in color and 20 in black/white. Maximum print solution is 1200 by 600 dpi. With the standard 96 MByte memory the C5510n is priced from about $1400. One step up the MFP ladder, Oki offers the ES1624n for small and medium businesses. The device prints 16 pages per minute (ppm) in color and 24 in black/white. The model is equipped with a 400 MHz processor, 128 MByte memory and IEEE1394 and USB 2.0 interfaces. Pricing starts at about $2800.
Organizations in need of more performance are offered the ES3640e, which delivers 36 pages per minute (ppm) in color and 40 in black/white. An entry fee of $13,500 buys a 1 GHz processor, an integrated 20 GByte harddrive, 512 MByte memory and internal print server as well as a maximum print resolution of 1200 by 1200 dpi.
Oki also announced the new stand-alone printers c9600/9800. Printing speed matches the 36/40 performance of the ES3640e. The 9600 version comes with a 720 MHz processor and 1200 by 600 dpi print resolution for about $3300, while the 9800 integrates a 1 GHz chip and offers enhanced 1200 by 1200 dpi for about $6900. (THG)
