Wireless USB gets its own developer conference

The USB Implementers Forum announced that it will hold the Wireless USB Developers Conference to provide system designers and hardware developers “the first opportunity to hear directly from the creators of the Wireless USB specification.” The conference will feature sessions targeting both the technical areas necessary for an implementation of Wireless USB implementation as well as marketing roadmaps, the organization said.

The conference takes place from May 23 to 25 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

Wireless USB (WUSB) is aimed at taking the simplicity of USB connections to the wireless world. WUSB will be backwards compatible to USB and will offer a bandwidth of 480 Mbit per second for distances less than 30 ft. (THG)
