Mail-order DVD rental pioneer Netflix has seen competition spike since launching its business. Over the past couple of years, Blockbuster, Wal-Mart, and Amazon have all decided to take Netflix on for a cut of the growing mail-order market.
Netflix scored a victory today, as it announced the formation of a partnership with Wal-Mart. Under terms of the deal, Netflix will promote DVD sales via Wal-Mart’s stores and web sites, while Wal-Mart will exit the DVD rental market with Netflix taking over its subscribers.
