Toshiba added four new DVD writers including the model SD-R6572M, a slim-line optical drive equipped with Lightscribe disc labeling technology and DVD+R double-layer capability. Lightscribe was developed by Hewlett-Packard and enables computer users to burn silk-screen-like labels onto CD and DVD discs directly from the drive.
The company also announced SD-R5372V DVD rewritable drive for desktops with Dl write speeds of 6x, and up to 16 x for single layer media. The SD-C2732 DVD-ROM aims at mobile PCs, offers RoHS compliance and delivers read speeds of up to 8x for DVDs. The SD-M2012C is a DVD-ROM drive for desktop computers, also with RoHS compliance and read speeds of up to 16X for DVD media. (THG)
