Adobe, Apple, IBM, Microsoft others sued over remote access

A case started in the Marshall Division district court in Texas, alleging a number of major firms have breached  patents issued in 1993 and 1992.

Betanet filed against Adobe, Apple, Arial Software, Autodesk, Carbonite, Corel, Eastman Kodak, IBM, Intuit, Microsoft, McAfee, Online Holdings, Oracle, Rockwell Automation, Rosetta Stone, SAP America, Siemens, and Sony Creative Software.

It’s alleged all these defendants infringed US patent 5,222,134 – Secure System for Activating Personal Computer Software at Remote Locations. The patent was issued on June 22, 1993.

The defendants are all accused of infringing an early patent with the same name, but US number 5,103,476.

They’re all accused of breaching these patents and the plaintiff wants the usual – a jury trial and enhanced damages.
