New York (NY) - Though the computer giant was able to bounce back from its scandalous probe into journalists' phone records, HP will now have to face a lawsuit from three reporters who were affected.
A trio of online reporters from Cnet are claiming invasion of privacy and are suing HP for punitive damages, reports the New York Times.
For the better part of a year and a half, HP was aggravated over details of confidential board room meetings that were leaked to the press. To find the root of the leak, HP illegally pulled phone records from its executives as well as a handful of reporters.
The New York Times quoted Cnet, a publicly traded company, as saying that it might sue HP as well.
