THQ acquires Stuntman franchise from Atari

The Stuntman driving franchise, including the upcoming next iteration of the series, has been bought by THQ for an undisclosed sum. THQ nabbed the franchise from the floundering Atari, who could probably use the cash to pay a few lighting bills at this stage, and intend to push forward the next game in the series for next gen systems - though THQ isn't yet saying which systems in particular the next Stuntman game will be released on.

They also bought the developers Paradigm Entertainment who are, we're confidently told by THQ, creators of several well-known action games and "classics." Anyone who recognizes Beetle Adventure Racing and Pilot Wings 64 off the top of their heads wins another franchise from Atari.
