Last of NTP's patents preliminarily rejected by USPTO

Reuters is reporting this afternoon that the US Patent and Trademark office has issued a preliminary, non-binding rejection of another of the last of five patents held by NTP, Inc. If a 30-day period of review passes without appeal by NTP, the USPTO would be free to issue a binding ruling on the validity of all five patents, that are the subject of its ongoing dispute with BlackBerry service provider Research In Motion, Ltd.
