Mog brings 7 million streaming tracks to mobile

Mog, a subscription-based “all you can eat music” service that launched last year, is coming soon to smartphone platforms, bringing on-the-go mobile access to 7 million songs.

Mog has licensing agreements with the major labels Sony, Warner, EMI, and Universal to provide a large amount of music to users at a low price.

The monthly fee for Mog is $5. The downside, of course, is there is no official way to download any of these songs unless you pay a premium $10 monthly fee.

The site opened up in 2005 as a music enthusiast outlet, but the subscription service just began about four months ago. The company last month received a $10 million venture capital investment and now it’s ready to branch out into the mobile-sphere.

Currently slated for iPhone and Android platforms, the mobile Mog application will be available in the second quarter of 2010.
