Man charged with porn offences after Russian billboard hack

An elderly Russian driver reportedly had a heart attack at the wheel, after a prankster hacked into a mainframe to beam a porn film onto a giant billboard.

The two-minute clip was played on a nine-by-six meter advertising board near the Kremlin a month ago by a man who said he “wanted to give people a laugh.”

It caused traffic jams across the city. Footage was posted on YouTube, but quickly taken down. There’s still a video here on Videosoft, though.

Police said the 41-year-old unemployed man was highly educated. According to the Moscow Times, he used the IP address of an organization based in Chechnya to gain access to a Moscow server and upload the video.

The man now faces charges of illegal distribution of pornography and illegal computer access. Hefaces two years in jail if convicted.
