In a launch so stealthy you’d be excused for missing it altogether, Google has unveiled its new online dictionary service in a surreptitious, clandestine, enigmatic and modest manner.
Google, which now appears to specialize in, well, just about everything, actually, offers dictionaries in 28 languages and allows multilingual lookups between them.
Meanings, usage and synonyms are all on offer for your delectation, delight and edification.
While you could do all this stuff before, Google has chucked out the concept of sending you off to places like dictionary.com and answers.com, which could quite conceivably cause these sites some distress, angst, despair and even despondency.
The end result is that Google now officially does evil. You can look it up here.
