Top Googler Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said that things had started to get better at the search outfit. Schmidt said that acquisitions are “turned on again” and expects to do one small deal a month.
His view is that the worst of the global recession was over and he was seeing improvement both inside and outside the United States.
Schmidt told AP it was clear that the worst of the economic downturn had passed and that Google was seeing some level of improvement both inside and outside the US.
Acquisition activity was returning to normal. Google used to buy up small privately held companies but its deal machine took a breather earlier this year.
But don’t expect to see Google hiring again soon. Schmidt said that the return to one-a-month acquisitions was instead of having to hire new staff.
