Palm Eos smartphone to launch this year

Sunnyvale, California – It’s time to take a break from talking about the Palm Pre – and get excited about the Palm Eos.

Engadget has got hold of what purports to be an internal AT&T Powerpoint slide showing details of the planned new smartphone, a successor to the Centro.

According to the slide, the Eos will launch sometime in the second half of this year with a $349 price tag and a $50 mail-in rebate.

Thinner than Nicole Ritchie with a tummy bug, it’s said to measure just 55 x 111 x 10.6mm and weigh just 100g.

Unlike the Palm Pre, the Eos will have a built-in QWERTY keyboard on the front. Features include a 2.63-inch touch screen with 320 x 400px resolution and 4GB storage. There’s POP3, IMAP, and EAS support, integrated IM client, Bluetooth 2.1 and A-GPS. It will presumably run the Web OS.
