CES 2009: Nvidia announces new GPUs for notebooks

Las Vegas (NV) – Today, Nvidia announced a new GPU design and three new processors based on the update. The new GeForce 100M-series GPU design powers the GeForce G105M, GeForce G110M and GeForce GT 130M GPUs, which are 55%, 35% and 17% faster respectively than Nvidia’s previous best models in those classes.

The 100M-series incorporates advances in Nvidia’s PhysX technology and stereoscopic 3D. The number of processor cores that can simultaneously access the GPU via Nvidia’s CUDA parallel processing software interface has been increased from 8 to 32.

GeForce GT 130M will appear in Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y650. The G110M will appear in Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y550 and Y450 models. All of these products are scheduled to ship in March, 2009.
