Taipei – Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has introduced a host of flexible displays, including active matrix OLED, roll-to-roll cholesterol liquid displays and electrowetting displays.
Perhaps the most noteworthy are the active matrix Organic LED (OLED) displays. These look like the flexible plastic covering photos in old photo albums, however they have moving pictures on them which are as vibrant and lively as the LCD monitor you’re reading this on right now. Perhaps even more so, since OLEDs have contrast ratios around one million to one.
